When accessing Sephora.com on desktop, the first and largest asset on the homepage is the slide. Given the millions of daily users on Sephora.com, homepage slides receive substantial exposure. This placement drives clicks and conversions to our numerous campaigns and promotions, making this asset incredibly important. As one of the lead designers for homepage, I have crafted many homepage slides, starting from concepting/photo direction to final design with retouched images. From designing these slides, I have become familiar with composing art direction decks, working on a live photoshoot set, and collaborating with photographers and retouchers.

If you’ve ever walked into a Sephora store, you are probably familiar with the friendly (and beautiful) faces that greet you and hand you a basket you know you’re going to fill. Without this warm and human touch, the digital experience needs to do a bit more heavy-lifting.
